This workshop is an opportunity for participants to explore the different phases of preparing for, negotiating and implementing transformative agreements–together with the library and consortium experts who produced the ESAC Reference Guide to TAs. Topics will include: How to derive key insights based on data, Engage stakeholders and plan communications, Understand your negotiation counterparts and the current environment, Define your negotiation approach and goals, Finding common ground in negotiations, Key information and data exchange, Agreement terms, Workflows, Monitoring and Assessment.

Participants in the workshop will be able to:
  • critically assess publisher offers of transformative agreements,
  • develop data-based open-access negotiation strategies,
  • produce talking points to garner support for negotiations from institutional stakeholders,
  • plan for workflow and process adjustments needed for implementation, and more.
